Greetings:
The purifying work of the General Conference is not finished. Thoroughness requires us now to prohibit practicing (non-repenting) homosexuals access to United Methodist communion tables, and not only them but also practicing adulterers, e.g., men who leave a church-sanctioned marriage and now live and intend to continue to live with another woman (in a so-called subsequent marriage) and whose former spouse was never unfaithful and is still alive. Such people cannot be permitted to feel at home among us.
And there is also the matter of people who are willing to take blood transfusions or eat blood sausage (as many Germans Methodists are wont to do), and men who insist upon wearing their hair long, and women who refuse either to don hats or shave their heads before attending services; a message must go out to them and all the world: conform to the plain rule of scripture or lose your place with us at the communion table!
Having put our United Methodist hands to the plow, we dare not look back--remember Lots wife!
